Imagine a timeline, where the defining event of your childhood was altered. Where your best friend was the one who saved you, and left for greatness, and you were left behind. This is Mirror Sunburst's created world.

After Starlight left for Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, Mirror Sunburst grew bitter at his magical inability. Sick of his overbearing mother expecting great things he couldn't achieve from him- he did something his Real never considered. He found a book on dark magic, learned it and let it consume him. Now, he's convinced he can help ANY pony achieve greatness denied them by ANY means necessary, it would be worth the risk. Mistrusting and deeply cynical he has no problem in trying to twist others to his worldview.
